Book was amazing . I read a story
to five year old students, through
out the story I was able retain their
attention, colors and vivid illustration
were very helpful. They kept my young
audience intrigued each time I turned
Kids were excited to talk about the
colors of the animals and we all had fun
with pronunciation with animal names
and for the best part we learned about
their characteristics. Each animal name
had was great with recall and class discussions afterwards.Way to go! Can wait for more to come! Like series of the stories, hint hint. Sincerely, from pre-kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Bobbie!

Amazing book Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 18,2024 This is an amazing book. My son absolutely loves it, he hasn't stopped asking me to read the book since we got it. The book has a great story, colorful and imaginative illustrations and most importantly is teaching my son about Africa, their animals and their people. It is also written very well and at the end of the book, there is a list of words my son is learning, one a day. I would definitely recommend this book to every parent. I will definitely buy more books by the authors. - Grazia F.
A wonderful children's book Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 23, 2024
This is an excellent book for children to learn vocabulary and about Africa simultaneously. The illustrations are fun and beautifully presented. I really enjoyed learning more about Africa with my children. Highly recommended - Amazon Customer
Excellent writing and illustrations Reviewed United Kingdom on August 6, 2024 It's a fantastic book, brilliantly written with exceptional illustrations. My toddlers love it and make me read it almost daily. It's a unique way to learn about Africa while also learning the alphabet. Well done. - Rob-o-cop
Absolutely beautiful!
I love the beginning story, Mulenga's Story! As a teacher I love the different words used for letters. They're not the same as other (alphabet) books, like 'I' is for Impala and 'J' is for Jackal. I mostly love how you have a dictionary in the back for harder words for kids to look up. - P. K.
Beautiful! This is a must have for any parent with a little one. The illustrations are amazing, the words selected for each letter are unique and teachable. More importantly as a teacher, I how the authors offer a small dictionary at the end to help children learn new words and how to use a dictionary! Absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended.

K.A. Mulenga’s A is for Africa: A Picture Dictionary for Young Readers is an enchanting and educational picture book that beautifully introduces children to the wonders of Africa’s wildlife and cultural heritage.
The book is a teaching tool and a storybook, blending factual information with a heartwarming narrative. Illustrated and designed by Pamela Boullier-Ross, the colorful and imaginative artwork brings each page to life, capturing the attention of young readers while engaging them in learning.
The story gives valuable lessons about environmental stewardship, teaches children about animals, and connects them to the cultural traditions of African tribes, showing how animals have significant roles in different societies.
K.A. Mulenga’s A is for Africa follows a young boy named Mulenga, who embarks on an adventure, learning the importance of caring for the environment. Guided by a wise Mountain Gorilla named Digit, Mulenga is introduced to the natural wonders of his African homeland. Digit shares lessons about the delicate balance of nature, explaining how animals, plants, and people are interconnected.
Each alphabet letter is paired with an African animal, accompanied by illustrations and facts. Children will learn about the aardvark, baboon, cheetah, and lesser-known creatures like the dik-dik and uromastyx lizard. Each animal is linked to a value or symbol, such as the cheetah representing grace and agility or the elephant embodying strength and wisdom.
Whether read at home or in the classroom, K.A. Mulenga's book offers valuable insights for children to develop a global perspective and respect for nature.
