SIDEBURNERS represents a compendium of Daniel Newcomb’s photographic work and prose, 1994 - 2025. The title 'SIDEBURNERS' alludes to a collective unconsciousness of our times in which, succumbed to ‘selfies’ and ‘screens’, people choose to avoid and evade the truth.​ There is a distinctive immediacy to Newcomb’s photographic artistry which invokes a sense of direct and instant involvement for the voyeur with the subject - giving rise to a sense of being transported into the experience.​Newcomb's calculated perspective - his vision, style coupled with the artist's remarkably skilled craftsmanship and in-depth knowledge of his photographic art - inspires his choices and singular approach to the narrative, making each shot unmistakably important and truly identifiable as a ‘Newcomb’.
